We are elated to announce that Jude ‘Feranmi who is the Convener of our organisation has been nominated to receive The Future Africa Prize for Governance in 2020 owed largely to his work with Raising New Voices Initiative.
As part of the 2020 cohort, he is nominated alongside the two commissioners of youth and sports in Oyo State and Kwara State, Hon Seun Fakorede and Hon Joanna Kolo who were appointed by their governors to head the youth ministry in their youth. Also nominated were Alex Adekunle James, convener of Rivers in the Desert Movement, Olumide Alonge who has worked hard in the health sector reform space for a number of years, Ms Adebusayo Olateru Olagbegi and Cephas Dakyo-Ashwa.
We have always believed in the imperative of our work at Raising New Voices raise a new generation of leaders who are committed to the development of our country, to reform our electoral process so we can elect these competent leaders that we are raising, and to advocate for the reforms that will ensure the Nigeria of our dreams become a reality in our lifetime. This recognition through this nomination reinforces our resolve to continue to pull through even in the face of hardship and challenges that we face in trying to solve Nigeria’s longstanding problem – competent, character driven, compassionate leadership.
The winners of each category will be announced in a virtual ceremony that will be live-streamed on the 28th of November, 2020.
While we look forward to this day, we continue to set our eyes on our goals and objectives even as we prepare to launch our signature #BreakTheHold campaign for the 2023 general elections.
May God Bless Nigeria.
