LEAD THE PEOPLE: 4TH JULY Global Panel on Youth Leadership & BOOK Launch
Jude Feranmi, Convener of Raising New Voices Initiative will be releasing his second book, Lead The People, via an online book launch which will feature a global panel on youth leadership.
Background For The Event
Our world is changing. In the 21st century, there is a rapid evolution of our world from what it was – sustainable, self-recycling, regenerative, abundant – to what it could become – unsustainable, degrading, unequal, dying. As we march towards the future, our generation is faced with the threat of climate change, rapid technological progress, hyper-consumerism and what Yuval Noah Harari projects as the replacement of humans with super humans and a world where intelligent design is the norm.
What role must young people, who hold more stake in the future in the fact of their being alive, play in leading our world towards a different future? What challenges are young people likely to face in charting this different and better future for themselves and for our generation and the next? How can young people overcome these challenges? To what extent must young people go to realise this global future and what means and instruments must young people use to chart and lead on this course?
Global Panelists
Panelists will be Hamzat Lawal, UN SDGs Mobiliser of the year, 2019, Rachelle DuBois, MP Assistant, Canadian Parliament, Zoltan Marczell, Festival Director Udvival, Europe, Naomi Njeri, Budget & Policy Officer, African Development Bank, Francis Wilson, Youth Candidate Researcher and Host of Youth Got The Power, USA.
The panel will be moderated by Mr Ohimai Amaize, award winning journalist from Nigeria.
