Tonye Rex Idaminabo is a House of Representatives candidate for Portharcourt 1 Federal Constituency under the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He is a young business leader passionate about creating a new image for Nigeria and empowering its future leaders.
He holds a Law degree from the Madonna University, Law School (Bwari Abuja) and a Masters Degree from the Prestigious Glasgow Caledonian University Scotland.
He recently resigned as a Legislative Aide at the National Assembly (Senate) to give him an opportunity to serve His Constituency.
Whiles in University for His second degree , He founded what has become one of the most revered award schemes on the continent dubbed, African Achievers Awards. As the Principal Partner, the award has honoured Africans from all walks of life including: Nobel Prize winner Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Zimbabwean businesswoman Divine Ndhlukula, the Kofi Annan Foundation, Nigerian media moguls John Momoh/ Mo Abudu, Bill Gates Foundation,UNICEF, AFDB etc.
Because of his overwhelming passion for Entrepreneurship development across the world, he co-founded the Young CEOs Business Forum, a business network platform with over seven thousand YOUNG CEO’s (Direct & indirect) and investors spread across Africa, Europe, America and Middle East. Under his leadership, over 20 conferences and investor meetups have been organised around the world coupled with the participation of Global CEOs, Speakers and Investors, speakers include the Immediate Past Xavier Rolet KBE (the President of the London Stock Exchange).
In 2016, Rex founded Reputation Poll International, a strategic consultancy agency specialised in corporate Reputation management. Reputation has so far published several researches which have been featured in various international media reportages including CGTV, Aljazeera etc.
As a thought leader on Entrepreneurship & Leadership in Africa, he has shared several speaking platforms around the world including: Cambridge University’s Leadership Academy, Uk House of Parliament, Young CEOs Business Summit (Abuja, Atlanta, Lagos, Dubai, London etc)
He also sits on several boards including the World Leaders Forum, Dubai.
He has received several other accolades from the British Award for African Development at the UK Parliament, Peace Achievers Awards, Most Influential Young Nigerians, Nigeria Advancement Awards, Nigeria Entrepreneurs Awards, 100 Most Influential Young Africans etc.
